One last wish before I go;
go to a place I do not know,
saying good-bye to my Norwegian snow,
and letting all my thoughts sink deep and low.
One last wish and I depart:
depart and leave behind a heart
I loved more than life and God,
and roam the lands that never heard Thee, Lord.
One last wish I have to shout,
a wish I can not do without,
the one You still owe me, Master of Lore,
the one I beg Thee, Father, for.
one last desire:
Do not put out the Fire!
